Auburn Group Celebrates Excellence at the Structural Timber Awards 2023

Celebrating Innovation and Excellence in Structural Timber Construction

The Auburn Group team was delighted to attend the prestigious Structural Timber Awards in Birmingham, an event that recognises outstanding achievements, innovation, and excellence across the UK's structural timber and offsite construction sectors.

As one of the industry's most anticipated events, the awards brought together leading architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and construction specialists to celebrate the projects and people shaping the future of sustainable building.

Proud Finalists for Education Project of the Year

We were incredibly proud to be shortlisted for the Education Project of the Year award. Being recognised alongside some of the UK's most respected organisations is a fantastic achievement and reflects the dedication, expertise, and hard work of our entire team.

While we didn't take home the award this year, we would like to extend our sincere congratulations to HLM Architects, Stora Enso, B&K Structures, and Engenuiti for their winning project, the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS). It is an outstanding project that showcases the possibilities of modern structural timber design and construction.

Recognising Industry Excellence

Our Directors, Mike O'Dell and Matt Bond, also had the honour of presenting the Installer of the Year award during the evening.

Congratulations to D&S Baucon for their exceptional work on the Terminal 5 Cruise Line Southampton Port project. Their achievement highlights the exceptional standards of quality, craftsmanship, and innovation being delivered across the construction industry.

Building Connections Across the Industry

Beyond the awards themselves, the evening provided an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow industry professionals, exchange ideas, and celebrate the continued growth of timber construction throughout the UK.

Events like the Structural Timber Awards play an important role in recognising excellence while encouraging collaboration and innovation across the sector. It was inspiring to spend the evening among so many talented organisations and individuals who are helping to drive the future of sustainable construction.

Looking Ahead

Although we didn't secure the Education Project of the Year title this time, being shortlisted is an achievement we're incredibly proud of. We'd like to thank everyone involved in our nominated project and congratulate all the finalists and winners for their outstanding contributions to the industry.

We look forward to continuing to deliver high-quality structural timber solutions and can't wait to see what next year's awards bring.
