Construction of Nine New Council Homes at Lundy Close, Eastwood
Auburn Group is delivering a new residential development of nine council homes at Lundy Close, Eastwood, on behalf of Southend-on-Sea City Council. The project is progressing well, with brick and blockwork actively underway as of autumn 2026.
The development comprises five houses, including three terraced properties, alongside four flats within a two-storey block. The flats will provide a mix of two one-bedroom and two two-bedroom homes, contributing to the provision of much-needed affordable housing in the local area.
Following planning activity in late summer 2025, construction has progressed to the brickwork stage, which commenced in September 2026. The project is scheduled for completion in autumn 2027.
Sustainability is a key consideration throughout the development, with the new homes incorporating energy-efficient technologies, including air-source heat pumps and solar panels. Pollinator-friendly landscaping will also enhance the external environment and support local biodiversity.
Upon completion, the properties will be made available for affordable rent through Southend-on-Sea City Council providing modern, energy-efficient homes for local residents.
Auburn Group is proud to be delivering this development in partnership with Southend-on-Sea City Council, supporting the delivery of quality affordable housing and contributing to the local community.
