Auburn Group secured the Design & Build contract for the delivery of six traditionally built houses and associated landscaping works on behalf of Thurrock Council. The development will provide high-quality residential accommodation, transforming an underutilised site into a sustainable and attractive community asset while supporting the Council's housing objectives.

Currently progressing through Stage 4 design, Auburn Group is working collaboratively with the full design team to develop and coordinate the scheme ahead of construction. Early site activities have already commenced, with tree pruning, site establishment works, and perimeter hoardings successfully completed to prepare the site for the next phase of development.

Demolition and groundworks subcontractors have been appointed, with the demolition of existing garages and the removal of hardstanding areas currently underway. As the project develops, updated design proposals are being reviewed and costed to accommodate a piled foundation solution and address the constraints presented by an existing sewer running through the site. These measures will ensure the development is both technically robust and delivered efficiently.

In parallel, the brickwork package and material procurement strategy are being finalised to support the construction programme, while value engineering opportunities continue to be explored collaboratively with the client team to maximise quality, efficiency, and long-term value.

More than just a housing development, this project represents a carefully considered regeneration of the site, delivering much-needed homes and enhanced landscaping that will provide lasting benefits for future residents and the wider community.
