Auburn Group Welcomes HARP Construct Cohort to Cliffs Pavilion Site Visit
Luke Miles (Assistant Site Manager) hosted and shared his knowledge, giving the students a real insight into the construction side of the development of our projects.
At Auburn Group, we believe that construction has the power to change lives. That's why partnerships that create meaningful opportunities for people to develop new skills, build confidence and explore employment pathways are so important to us.
Last week, we were delighted to welcome the first HARP Construct cohort to our Cliffs Pavilion project for a hands-on site visit, providing participants with a valuable insight into the realities of working within the construction industry.
Bringing Construction to Life
There's something incredibly rewarding about seeing a programme move from planning to reality, and the enthusiasm shown by the group throughout the day was a reminder of why initiatives like this matter.
Hosted by members of the Auburn team, the visit gave participants the opportunity to experience a live construction site, learn about the different roles involved in delivering a project and gain a practical understanding of how the industry operates.
The energy on site was infectious. Questions flowed throughout the visit, conversations sparked new ideas, and participants embraced every opportunity to learn more about the sector and the careers available within it.
A particular highlight of the day was a plug-wiring challenge that quickly became more competitive than anyone anticipated, creating plenty of laughs while encouraging practical problem-solving skills and teamwork.
And, of course, no visit would have been complete without Daisy the Dog, our much-loved site mascot, who proved as popular as ever and quickly became the star attraction.
Creating Pathways Back into Employment
While the activities and site experience were important, the real impact of the day was evident afterwards.
Participants left with greater confidence, a stronger understanding of the construction industry and a clearer sense of the opportunities that could be available to them in the future.
For many, the visit helped transform construction from an unfamiliar industry into a realistic and achievable career pathway.
This is exactly why our partnership with HARP Homelessness Charity is so valuable. The programme is designed to provide practical support for individuals who are ready to re-enter the workforce, helping them gain exposure to the industry, develop new skills and build confidence in their future employment prospects.
Working Together to Make a Difference
The success of the day would not have been possible without the dedication and support of those involved.
A huge thank you goes to Emma, Tony and Luke for the care, enthusiasm and commitment they brought to the visit, helping to create an engaging and welcoming experience for every participant.
Their efforts reflect the collaborative and people-focused approach that sits at the heart of both Auburn Group and the HARP Construct programme.
Looking Ahead
We are incredibly proud to support initiatives that deliver genuine social value and create opportunities for people within our local communities.
Seeing participants leave the site feeling motivated, encouraged and optimistic about their future is exactly the outcome we hoped for.
We look forward to continuing our support throughout the programme and celebrating the achievements of the cohort at the upcoming celebration event in February.
By working together, we can help create lasting opportunities, strengthen communities and open doors to rewarding careers within the construction industry.
